They seek to create division among our people, hoping that protests will escalate and that they can take control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He further warned: \u201cCertain groups must be vigilant, as the enemy is looking to exploit legitimate grievances. If people take to the streets with valid concerns, others will hijack their cause and incite chaos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The regime\u2019s Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agaah.ir\/news\/10648\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ejei also admitted<\/a> to the internal power struggles, downplaying Pezeshkian\u2019s calls for unity: \u201cEven if we constantly repeat \u2018we must have consensus,\u2019 it will not materialize unless we develop a shared understanding of the country\u2019s main issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His remarks also reflected deep-seated fears within the regime: \u201cIf we, as officials of this system, cause the people to lose faith in the effectiveness of Islamic governance, we bear a tremendous responsibility. If the youth and those who looked to Iran\u2019s Islamic Republic as a model become disillusioned, we will be accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Zarif&#39;s Davos Remarks Ignite Infighting Within <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Iran?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Iran<\/a>&#39;s Regime Over US Negotiations<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zyfEGr3lKu\">https:\/\/t.co\/zyfEGr3lKu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NCRI-FAC (@iran_policy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/iran_policy\/status\/1883639658103595343?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 26, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the same meeting, Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mizanonline.ir\/fa\/news\/4818169\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ghalibaf addressed the urgent economic<\/a> crisis gripping Iran, indirectly criticizing Pezeshkian\u2019s administration: \u201cWhile statistics may show a reduction in inflation from 40% to 30%, or that liquidity has decreased, these numbers mean little if we ask the people directly. They do not feel any improvement in their daily lives. Society cannot bear further economic strain; we must take action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also warned against the growing divisions within the regime: \u201cThe enemy\u2019s primary objective is to create polarization. Disagreements may exist, but at the end of the day, we must align with the Supreme Leader\u2019s directives.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Khamenei\u2019s Diminishing Role<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Khamenei\u2019s weakening grip is becoming increasingly apparent. Despite repeated warnings from the Supreme Leader, his directives are largely ignored, as competing factions pursue their own agendas. This disarray is stoking fears among Iran\u2019s ruling elite that the regime\u2019s downfall is imminent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Beyond the street protests and official warnings, the Iranian press has also shed light on the internal fractures. Prominent regime-affiliated journalist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etemadonline.com\/%D8%A8%D8%AE%D8%B4-%D8%B3%DB%8C%D8%A7%D8%B3%DB%8C-9\/698056-%D8%AC%DB%8C%D8%BA-%D9%BE%D8%A7%DB%8C%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%B1%DB%8C-%D8%B1%D8%B3%D8%A7%DB%8C%DB%8C-%DA%A9%D9%88%DA%86%DA%A9-%D8%B2%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%87\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mohammad Mohajeri criticized<\/a> the radical elements within the Paydari Front, stating: \u201cThe so-called \u2018sanctions profiteers\u2019 are a shadowy force operating behind the scenes. These are not just a few loud demonstrators or MPs shouting in parliament. Figures like Gholamreza Mesbahi-Moghaddam and Alireza Zakani are merely pawns in a larger game. However, it appears to have yielded little, as discussions remained vague and filled with generic rhetoric.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, the <a href=\"https:\/\/vatanemrooz.ir\/Newspaper\/BlockPrint\/298594\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Vatan-e Emrooz<\/em> newspaper rejected<\/a> claims that Pezeshkian\u2019s government had Supreme Leader Khamenei\u2019s full backing. The newspaper highlighted statements from Mehdi Fazaeli, a key figure in Khamenei\u2019s office, refuting Pezeshkian\u2019s assertion that his cabinet selections were approved by Khamenei. The article stated: \u201cThe claim that the Supreme Leader was involved in the selection of Pezeshkian\u2019s cabinet members was a key factor in their confirmation. Yet, repeated denials from Khamenei\u2019s office indicate that Pezeshkian and his allies have been fabricating legitimacy for their administration.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regime\u2019s Fate: Intensifying Conflict or Imminent Collapse?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The accelerating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-a-fundamentalism\/internal-power-struggle-in-iran-reveals-cracks-in-khameneis-regional-strategy\/\">internal power struggle<\/a> within Iran\u2019s leadership, coupled with the regime\u2019s economic failures and intensifying external pressures, signals deepening instability. Every faction seeks to leverage the crisis for its own benefit, yet the overarching reality remains: the regime is losing control.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While extremist factions attempt to monopolize power and revisionist \u201cmoderates\u201d struggle to maintain legitimacy, the broader Iranian population sees these conflicts for what they truly are\u2014battles among corrupt elites trying to salvage their grip on power.
