The name alone evokes delicate pastries, bubbling springs, and now\u2014luxurious espionage fantasies apparently inspired by an overheated Netflix writer&#8217;s room. According to the latest splash from <em>Le Canard Encha\u00een\u00e9<\/em> (which roughly translates to &#8220;The Duck in Chains,&#8221; though one wonders what exactly it\u2019s chained to these days), Maryam Rajavi, leader of the Iranian Resistance, is guilty of the gravest political crime known to man: leading an independent Resistance&#8230; and when that\u2019s not cruel enough\u2026 in exile.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Not content with the truth, <em>Le Canard Encha\u00een\u00e9<\/em> weaves a baseless narrative out of thin air\u2014fabricating falsehoods without a shred of credible evidence. The goal isn\u2019t to report facts but to smear reputations in service of Tehran\u2019s propaganda. Even the most absurd lies are presented as ominous clues. Because in this game, belief isn\u2019t the goal\u2014doubt is. A moment&#8217;s hesitation, a seed of suspicion\u2014that\u2019s enough to do the damage. Truth doesn&#8217;t matter when you&#8217;re paid in fog.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This isn\u2019t journalism\u2014it\u2019s fiction dressed as investigation, designed not to inform, but to confuse. And confusion, in the hands of propagandists, is just another form of control.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Instead of challenging the real danger\u2014the regime that<a href=\"https:\/\/rsf.org\/en\/iran-has-arrested-79-journalists-staggering-crackdown-mahsa-amini-s-death-year-ago\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> jails journalists<\/a>, hangs protestors, and funds terrorism\u2014they obsess over trivialities, hoping that innuendo will substitute for investigation. In doing so, they lend their ink not to truth, but to Tehran.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"fr\" dir=\"ltr\">1. In June 2024, just days after French media regurgitated Iranian regime propaganda, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-iran-resistance\/iranian-regimes-judiciary-deputy-hails-what-he-calls-french-police-raid-on-pmoi-headquarters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">French police stormed<\/a> a peaceful community center tied to the Iranian Resistance. Why? Coincidentally, a French <a href=\"https:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/live-news\/20250320-iran-frees-french-citizen-after-prison-ordeal-macron\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hostage had just been released<\/a> by Tehran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fast forward to 2025: same act, new scene. <em>Le Canard Encha\u00een\u00e9<\/em> publishes a smear job, the mullahs applaud from Tehran, and conveniently, another French hostage walks free. The French call it diplomacy, the clerical regime calls it success and the Duck calls it journalism. But anyone with a memory longer than a TikTok reel calls it what it is: appeasement dressed up as policy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the 1980s, the Tehran-backed Hezbollah franchise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/publications\/special-reports\/an-overview-of-irans-history-of-hostage-taking-and-how-western-appeasement-has-fueled-tehrans-terrorism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kidnapped Westerners<\/a> like party favors. They got France to expel the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1986\/06\/10\/world\/opponents-of-khomeini-said-to-leave-france-for-iran-iraq-border.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PMOI leadership in 1986<\/a>. In 2003, over 160 Resistance members were arrested on fake terrorism charges\u2014charges that dissolved after 12 years of judicial embarrassment. But hey, it bought the mullahs time. And hostages.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now, in 2025, the price of betrayal seems to have dropped to a few headlines. But somewhere between real journalism and regime-friendly stenography, the Duck found itself waddling into Iran\u2019s propaganda pool. What used to challenge power now launders it\u2014both literally and in headlines.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the most revealing lines in this whole charade is the accusation of a<a href=\"https:\/\/en.iranntv.com\/first-day-of-simay-azadi-29th-telethon-shared-dream-of-free-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> &#8220;forced telethon.&#8221;<\/a> Really? A movement accused for decades of receiving support from foreign governments is now being attacked for relying on its own people? Make no mistake: this is not journalism\u2014it\u2019s an accidental confession that the Iranian Resistance is funded by its members and supporters, not any state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And speaking of force\u2014how exactly do you coerce people into a Resistance for 30, 40, even 50 years? Through exile, imprisonment, torture, and execution? These are volunteers who have stood against two brutal dictatorships, not conscripts on a payroll. To call their loyalty &#8220;forced&#8221; is not just insulting\u2014it\u2019s historically and morally bankrupt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All this, of course, to smear the one movement the regime fears more than inflation: the PMOI\/MEK. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.irna.ir\/news\/85783595\/Ayatollah-Khamenei-delivers-a-message-on-the-occasion-of-Nowruz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tehran doesn\u2019t fear B-52s<\/a>, it fears telethons.
