The heavy rains began on April 5 and caused substantial damage to infrastructure, including roads, water pipelines, and communication lines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"814\">According to the state-run <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tasnimnews.com\/fa\/news\/1404\/01\/17\/3285884\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tasnim News Agency<\/a>, the floodwaters severely damaged infrastructure in Rostamabad, Rudbar, Manjil, and Loshan. The Director General of Roads and Urban Development for Gilan Province, Fariborz Moradi, confirmed that the Aliabad to Gilan route remains blocked due to mudslides.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"816\" data-end=\"1183\">Samira Hassani, Rudbar\u2019s interim governor, stated that the floods affected 30 villages, mostly in central Rudbar, damaging roads and cutting off water supplies. The Mahabad to Sardasht route was also destroyed, leaving communities isolated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1386\" data-end=\"1673\">For decades, the regime\u2019s focus on foreign interventions and military projects has left vital infrastructure and disaster preparedness severely lacking. Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/society\/iran-news-regimes-neglected-infrastructure-amplifies-damage-from-severe-flooding-across-multiple-provinces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previous floods<\/a> causing devastation, the authorities have failed to implement adequate measures to protect affected areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1675\" data-end=\"1889\">Local officials have warned residents to avoid flooded areas, but no immediate relief measures have been announced.
