Simultaneously in <strong>Arak<\/strong>, central Iran, bakers assembled outside the governor\u2019s office, decrying surging production costs and erratic power cuts. \u201cExpenses have soared to the sky and no one is held to account\u2014these conditions can\u2019t go on,\u201d one baker warned, foreshadowing protests spreading to other cities if authorities remain silent.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">May 11\u2014Isfahan, central Iran<br \/>Retirees of the steel and mining industry resume weekly protest rallies to reiterate demands for higher pensions and basic needs. Every day our quota is spoiled\u2014when will they get their act together?\u201d one baker fumed. Across the country in <strong>Rasht<\/strong>, northern Iran, emergency personnel, who risked their lives during the pandemic, assembled under the slogan, \u201cCry out for your rights! Two tons\u2014look at these bags,\u201d one fisherman shouted, holding up rotting produce. Their cries highlight a regime that neither warns nor compensates those hurt most by its failing grid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By May 7, power cuts in <strong>Ramhormoz<\/strong> left families \u201cdestroyed\u201d overnight, as one resident lamented, \u201cOur lives have been ruined\u2014everything is gone.\u201d In <strong>Urmia<\/strong>, northwestern Iran, bakeries stood idle when electric ovens failed, burning loaves and angering crowds. Recognizing the crisis, the Ministry of Interior decreed all government offices and banks closed on Thursdays until September 22, while regime MPs admitted daily blackouts could hit four hours. As Iranians face daily indignities\u2014from spoiled flour to shattered livelihoods\u2014their defiance only deepens. This latest<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/iran-protests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> torrent of protests<\/a>, powered by economic despair and exposed corruption, shows no sign of abating.
