Many are driven to leave the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/women\/a-thousand-iranian-nurses-leave-the-country-each-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">profession or emigrate<\/a> in search of better conditions abroad. In one alarming case, a nurse was beaten so severely that her nose was broken and her face injured\u2014but the assailant, a member of the police force, faced no consequences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Textbody\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sharifi Moghadam stressed that nurses\u2019 demands\u2014such as fair wages, implementation of the nursing services tariff law, and improved working conditions\u2014have gone unmet for years. \u201cThese are legitimate rights, not privileges. Silencing our voices with threats only deepens the crisis,\u201d he said, urging regulatory bodies to investigate abuses and protect nurses from arbitrary treatment.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shortage of Nurses Reaches Dangerous Levels<\/h3>\n<p class=\"Textbody\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The numbers reveal the stark reality. Iran\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asriran.com\/fa\/news\/1057992\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nurse-to-hospital-bed ratio<\/a> stands at just 0.9\u2014far below the global standard of 2.5. In some regions, the ratio falls to 0.6.
