A group of Iranian residents in Luxembourg gathered in Place de Clairefontaine for a public protest and exhibition organized by the Association for Human Rights of Iranians and the Iranian Youth Association in Luxembourg. The event aimed to “raise awareness and denounce the accelerating wave of executions in Iran, calling on the Luxembourg government to take a firm stand and act against this ongoing injustice<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

The exhibition featured portraits of the victims of the 2022-2023 protests in Iran, as well as political prisoners who were executed during both the Shah’s and the Islamic Republic’s rule. A nationwide truck driver strike in\u00a0Iran<\/a>\u00a0has entered its fifth day, reaching across nearly 100 cities and over two dozen provinces as it disrupts transportation routes across the country.\u00a0As of Sunday, the strike had stretched into 93 cities and 27 provinces, with\u00a0drivers<\/a>\u00a0protesting the government\u2019s plans to introduce a tiered\u00a0fuel pricing<\/a>\u00a0system that many truckers fear will become unsustainable,\u00a0according<\/a>\u00a0to the National Council of Resistance of Iran, the political wing of dissident group People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran.<\/p>\n

Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of the NCRI, praised the strike efforts over the weekend, saying any crackdowns from police or the government amplify their message rather than silence it.<\/p>\n

School Van Overturns, Injuring Six Female Students<\/h3>\n

In yet another tragic accident involving school transport, a school van overturned on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Alborz Province, injuring six female students and the driver.
\nWhile fortunately no lives were lost in this accident, the accident has once again raised serious concerns about the structural and regulatory deficiencies in Iran\u2019s student transportation system.<\/p>\n

This crash is neither the first of its kind nor likely the last. In recent years, several fatal incidents\u2014such as a\u00a0school van fire in Urmia<\/a>\u00a0and the overturning of a bus carrying gifted students in Kerman\u2014have shocked public opinion. Yet, the response from the Ministry of Education has often amounted to little more than deafening silence or token actions, such as dismissing a mid-level official\u2014moves that resemble erasing the problem rather than resolving it.<\/p>\n
