On May 27, 2025, the Parliamentary Committee for a Democratic Iran (CPID) held a meeting at the Questure of the French National Assembly, dedicated to the situation in Iran and the country\u2019s future prospects.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the members of parliament heard speeches from two invited figures: Alejo Vidal-Quadras, former Vice President of the European Parliament, and Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n

In her speech, Mrs. Rajavi\u00a0declared<\/a>, \u201cThe only lasting solution to eliminate the regional and global threat posed by the Iranian regime\u2014the world\u2019s foremost state sponsor of terrorism\u2014is regime change by the Iranian people and their organized resistance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Referring to the increasing domestic unrest, she said, \u201cThe people of Iran, especially the younger generation, are in open rebellion against the regime.\u201d She described mass arrests, ongoing executions, and the resilience of political prisoners, and called on Western governments to stop appeasing the regime. \u201cFrance and Europe must recognize the Iranian people\u2019s fight for freedom. They must designate the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist entity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mrs. Rajavi also revealed the discovery of a new secret nuclear site<\/a> in Semnan and emphasized that the clerical regime has used diplomacy to buy time while expanding its nuclear infrastructure. \u201cIf it were not seeking to build a bomb, it would not have squandered two trillion dollars of the Iranian people\u2019s wealth,\u201d she said. She urged the international community to reimpose UN Security Council resolutions and dismantle the regime\u2019s nuclear program.<\/p>\n
