On June 1, 2025, in a televised interview<\/a> on Iran\u2019s state-run <\/span>Shabake Khabar<\/span><\/i>, Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), made remarkably candid admissions regarding the regime\u2019s nuclear strategy. Speaking just days before a critical session of the IAEA Board of Governors, Eslami outlined how Tehran had long viewed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and UN Security Council Resolution 2231 not as ends to nuclear transparency\u2014but as tools to buy time and ultimately \u201cclose Iran\u2019s nuclear case.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe had an important achievement in the JCPOA and that was year ten,\u201d Eslami declared<\/a>. \u201cYear ten is when Resolution 2231 comes to an end and the nuclear case of Iran is officially closed. What remains are merely some so-called limitations,\u201d he said, referencing the sunset clauses built into the agreement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But in an unfiltered moment, he revealed what has since become the regime’s core frustration: the exposure of its clandestine work<\/a> by the Iranian Resistance, particularly the PMOI (People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran)\u2014whom he derided with the regime\u2019s slur, <\/span>\u201cmonaafeqin\u201d<\/span><\/i> (hypocrites).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why they\u2014using the anti-revolutionaries and monafeqin<\/em>\u2014create hype. Every time you see a new location pop up, a website names some corner or site and the noise begins. They do it to make sure we don\u2019t reach year ten and can\u2019t benefit from its opportunity,\u201d Eslami said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
