On May 31, 2025, Baroness Sandeep Verma of the UK House of Lords addressed an international conference<\/a> hosted by the Iranian Resistance. The event brought together global lawmakers and leaders to advocate for democratic change in Iran and back the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and Maryam Rajavi\u2019s Ten-Point Plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Baroness Verma praised the determination of the Iranian people and the NCRI\u2019s leadership, especially the PMOI-led Resistance Units<\/a> operating inside Iran. She emphasized that this gathering was more than symbolic \u2014 it was a demonstration of what can be achieved when the international community shows the will and courage to act. She urged governments, especially in Europe, to move beyond condemnation and toward concrete actions, starting with proscribing the IRGC as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n

She called for the establishment of a special tribunal to investigate crimes against humanity and highlighted the plight of political prisoners such as Maryam Akbari Monfared<\/a>. Verma also backed the \u201cNo to Executions Tuesday\u201d campaign and demanded UN access to prisoners.<\/p>\n

Baroness Verma concluded by reaffirming the UK\u2019s strong parliamentary support for the Ten-Point Plan and emphasized that the fall of the regime is inevitable. \u201cA free and democratic Iran is not a matter of if, but when.\u201d<\/p>\n
