This coalition includes six faction leaders and eight committee chairs, reflecting a significant cross-party consensus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"524\" data-end=\"909\">In their joint statement, the Dutch senators echoed growing international calls for the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist entity and urged the recognition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/english.mojahedin.org\/iranian-resistance-units\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Iranian Resistance Units\u2019<\/a> right to confront the IRGC. \u201cStanding with the Iranian people seeking regime change is not only sound policy\u2014it is a moral obligation,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"911\" data-end=\"1392\">The senators expressed alarm at the intensifying repression inside Iran, highlighting at least <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-human-rights\/iran-khameneis-new-record-in-executions-and-crimes\/\">1,000 executions in 2024<\/a> alone. They condemned the \u201cHijab and Chastity Law\u201d as a tool of broad police control, not merely enforcement of mandatory dress codes. The statement aligns with the platform of Iran\u2019s democratic opposition, which calls for \u201cNo to compulsory hijab, no to compulsory religion, and no to compulsory rule,\u201d and advocates for the ongoing \u201cNo to Executions\u201d campaign.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1734\">Protests and resistance activity continue to escalate following the nationwide uprising of 2022, in which the Iranian people rejected both monarchical and theocratic dictatorship. The senators emphasized that political expression has been entirely blocked by the regime, making the recognition of resistance units\u2019 right to fight essential.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A statement backed by a majority of the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Netherlands?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Netherlands<\/a> Parliament announced their solidarity with the popular uprising in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Iran?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Iran<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/IranianResistance?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#IranianResistance<\/a> movement.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mp8oETbh6m\">https:\/\/t.co\/mp8oETbh6m<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NCRI-FAC (@iran_policy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/iran_policy\/status\/1677046004997148672?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 6, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"2272\">Endorsing the statement, Professor Kees de Lange, a former Dutch senator, described the Iranian regime as being in irreversible decline\u2014morally, economically, and strategically. He warned of Iran\u2019s growing isolation in the region and called the regime \u201ca pariah that must never be allowed access to nuclear weapons.\u201d Citing the resilience of the Iranian people and the leadership of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/maryam-rajavi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a> and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), he declared, \u201cNow is the time for regime change and for building a democratic future for the Iranian people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"2274\" data-end=\"2711\">Former Member of the European Parliament Derk Jan Eppink pointed to Iran\u2019s record-breaking execution rate\u2014accounting for 64% of all executions worldwide in 2024, despite having only 1% of the world\u2019s population. He also warned of the regime\u2019s expanding terror footprint in Europe, with <a href=\"https:\/\/isjcommittee.com\/2025\/04\/dutch-intelligence-links-iranian-regime-to-terror-plots-in-spain-the-netherlands-the-imperative-to-blacklist-irgc-close-embassies-and-expel-agents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dutch intelligence identifying<\/a> Tehran\u2019s role in terror plots on European soil. \u201cCondemnation alone is no longer enough,\u201d he said. \u201cThe world must act.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"3038\" data-end=\"3416\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The senators\u2019 endorsement is part of a growing international movement. As of June 2024, over 4,000 parliamentarians and <a href=\"https:\/\/iran1988.org\/in-joint-letter-107-former-world-leaders-seek-accountability-in-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">100 former world leaders<\/a> have signed statements in support of Rajavi\u2019s platform.
