Resolution\u202f1701 and enforce a timeline for integrating all armed forces under state control. U.S. envoy Thomas Barak reportedly told Lebanese officials that &#8220;time is running out&#8221; and urged a firm response.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1567\">Samir Geagea, leader of the Lebanese Forces, condemned Hezbollah\u2019s weapons as \u201cuseless in defending Lebanon\u201d and only bringing \u201charm and destruction.\u201d Geagea warned that indecision could lead to a &#8220;very bad summer,&#8221; hinting at domestic instability or even civil conflict if the state does not act. The party warned that Lebanon risks growing international isolation if it fails to enforce Resolution\u202f1701 and re-establish the state&#8217;s monopoly over force.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1933\" data-end=\"2405\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/news\/terrorism-a-fundamentalism\/how-iran-regime-uses-hezbollah\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">militant group Hezbollah<\/a> functions as Tehran\u2019s most significant proxy in the region. The Iranian regime has provided substantial funding as well as weapons, training, and logistical support to Hezbollah to maintain strategic influence over Lebanon and the wider region.
