Iran, the Third Option for Regime Change: A March for Freedom on September 6 in Brussels<\/h3>\n

At the end of July, in the heart of Rome, inside the Italian Parliament, before an audience of prominent political figures, the Iranian democratic opposition presented its thesis:\u00a0\u201cThe Iranian people are ready to reclaim their country \u2014 and they already have the foundations to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n

This message was delivered by Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), on July 30 at the Chamber of Deputies and the following day at the World Summit for a Free Iran.<\/p>\n

Her message was clear and uncompromising: the Third Option for a free Iran \u2014 no war, no appeasement, but regime change carried out by the Iranian people and their organized Resistance.<\/p>\n

In Parliament, Rajavi warned of the risk of a recurrence of the 1988 massacre, when over 30,000 political prisoners were executed in a single summer. She highlighted the more than 1,500 executions carried out in the past year and raised the alarm over the imminent danger faced by 14 political prisoners currently at risk of execution.<\/p>\n

AUGUST 2025 Report: In August, the clerical regime escalated its repressive measures against political prisoners\u2014particularly supporters of the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK)\u2014and their families.\u00a0During this period, notorious prisons such as Qarchak, Greater Tehran (Fashafouyeh), Evin, and Ghezel Hesar in Karaj became sites of intensified \u201cwhite torture\u201d and severe denial of legal and medical rights, especially under the sweltering summer conditions.<\/p>\n

Families of political prisoners were not spared from this crackdown, facing arrests, hostage-taking, intimidation, and psychological pressure. At the same time, an unprecedented number of\u00a0ordinary citizens were arrested<\/a>\u00a0under various pretexts, including participation in protests against recurring water and power outages, and sent to prison.<\/p>\n
