Tens of Thousands of Opponents of the Iranian Regime Gather at the Foot of the Atomium<\/h3>\n

Organizers estimated the turnout at \u201cseveral tens of thousands of people,\u201d while police reported around 10,000 demonstrators.<\/p>\n

Among the participants was Maryam Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). Former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence also addressed the crowd, alongside former Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt and John Bercow, the former Speaker of the U.K. House of Commons (2009\u20132019).<\/p>\n

The demonstrators called on the European Union to adopt a tougher stance on Tehran. \u201cWe are here to make our voices heard and to support Mrs. Rajavi in her fight for democracy in Iran,\u201d<\/em> said Afchine Alavi, spokesperson for the NCRI.<\/p>\n

Protesters also demanded European sanctions against the regime and urged the designation of Iran\u2019s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n

That is why today, the PMOI lights sixty shining flames\u2014flames that can never be extinguished. Yes, this is the generation of the hundreds of thousands, the generation of the countless, who proudly passed through the torture chambers, the firing squads, and the gallows\u2014from the first martyr, Ahmad Rezaii, to the most recent martyrs, Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani, whose 40th day of martyrdom was marked yesterday.<\/p>\n

PMOI Resistance Units Defy Regime\u2019s Brutal Crackdown, Marking 60 Years of Unbroken Struggle for Freedom<\/h3>\n

On September 5, as the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK) marked its 60th founding anniversary, its network of Resistance Units inside Iran sent a powerful message of defiance from the streets of Zahedan. In a direct challenge to the ruling theocracy, they held placards and displayed slogans honoring six decades of relentless struggle for a free and democratic Iran, proving that the spirit of resistance is thriving despite an escalating campaign of terror by the regime.<\/p>\n

These courageous acts come amidst an intense wave of repression aimed at crushing dissent, particularly against PMOI supporters. Less than two months ago, the regime executed PMOI members\u00a0Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani<\/a>. Currently, 14 other PMOI supporters are on death row, facing imminent execution. The regime has also intensified its crackdown on the families of PMOI members, carrying out mass arrests while simultaneously attempting to erase its history of crimes by\u00a0destroying the gravesites of martyrs<\/a>.<\/p>\n
