On September 10, 2025, European powers and the United States dismissed a newly announced \u201carrangement\u201d between Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi as nothing more than a time-buying tactic. At the same time, the agreement has triggered furious infighting within Iran\u2019s political establishment, exposing deep cracks in the regime\u2019s power structure.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"743\" data-end=\"797\">Western Powers Reject \u201cTime-Buying\u201d Arrangement<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"598\" data-end=\"1016\">In Vienna, Britain, France, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/speeches\/npt-safeguards-agreement-with-iran-e3-statement-to-the-iaea-board-of-governors-september-2025?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Germany warned<\/a> that since June 13, 2025, Iran has \u201cpractically ended cooperation with the IAEA,\u201d leaving its stockpile of enriched uranium unaccounted for more than two months. But sensing domestic backlash, Abbas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isna.ir\/news\/1404062011996\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Araghchi shifted tone<\/a> when addressing state media inside Iran. Abroad, it seeks to project moderation to delay sanctions. The regime cannot reconcile these positions without undermining itself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"4648\" data-end=\"4938\">The warnings from MPs and IRGC affiliates underscore the leadership\u2019s vulnerability: concessions abroad risk a collapse of support at home, especially among the very security forces tasked with defending the system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"4940\" data-end=\"5384\">Iran\u2019s nuclear crisis has thus reached a new stage. International patience is running out, domestic factions are at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/iranian-regime-infighting\/iran-faces-deepening-power-struggles-amid-un-sanctions-snapback\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">each other\u2019s throats<\/a>, and the looming snapback threatens to choke off oil exports and financial lifelines. The Grossi-Araghchi \u201cdeal\u201d was meant to buy time.
