On September 16, 2022, Mahsa Amini died. Her death became the spark for a fire that spread like a wildfire across Iran. In more than 200 cities, in all 31 provinces of the country, massive protests broke out against the government. Mahsa\u2019s death, the result of severe head injuries inflicted by the morality police, was the last drop that caused the barrel to overflow after decades of oppression.\u00a0In the past eight years, Iran has witnessed six major waves of protest, each more powerful and organized than the previous one. The uprisings between December 2017 and 2022 appeared, on the surface, to be about the lack of basic necessities. In reality, dissatisfaction with the ruling system of dictatorship and the desire for democratic change were the driving forces.<\/p>\n

More than 21,000 dissidents have been arrested, and 32 people executed just in the days between August 31 and September 3. The Iranian regime is closing ranks and, in order to defend itself, is further intensifying\u2014if that were even possible\u2014its actions against the opposition. On the international front, it has failed in negotiations over its nuclear program even with the Europeans, who have triggered the mechanism that brings new sanctions. But as Kamran Dalir, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), explains, the negotiations serve only to buy time until the goal of building nuclear weapons is reached.<\/p>\n

Iranian Youth Target Regime Centers in Support of Labor Protests<\/h3>\n

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, Iran\u2019s rebellious youth carried out 15 fiery acts of protest in response to the plunder of workers\u2019 and laborers\u2019 earnings. They struck symbols of the regime\u2019s corruption and crimes in Arak, Alborz, Qazvin, Kerman, Kermanshah, Ilam, Sarbaz, Rasht, Isfahan, and Mashhad. Supporting the oppressed workers at the Arak Aluminum Company, the Abad Rahan Company in Bandar Abbas, the Iranian Offshore Oil Company in the Sirri region, and the Aghajari Oil and Gas Company, they set fire to banners of regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei and regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini. They also targeted the regime\u2019s centers of fundamentalism, plundering, espionage, and suppression as follows:<\/p>\n

Qarchak Prison Guards Violently Raid Female Political Prisoners<\/h3>\n

On the morning of Sunday, September 14, 2025, the ward housing female political prisoners at Qarchak Prison in Varamin was once again subjected to a violent raid by prison security forces. Acting on the direct orders of prison director Soghra Khodadadi, dozens of male and female guards stormed the ward known as the \u201cClub\u201d and attempted to forcibly remove prisoners from their rooms and transfer them to the courtyard. The collective resistance of the female political prisoners prevented the full execution of this order. In retaliation, prison authorities cut off all telephone communications and threatened to cancel family visits.<\/p>\n
