Pakistani rice, once a staple in many households, now sells for up to 200,000 tomans per kilo \u2014 if it can be found at all. But much of these funds have either vanished or been used to manipulate markets, pushing prices beyond the reach of ordinary Iranians.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong> The Modallal Family \u2014 The \u201cFeed and Oil Kings\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Modallal empire, which dominates animal feed and edible oil imports, has long been accused of using political connections to corner the market. Their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foodkeys.com\/view\/producers\/details?id=2916\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">company <\/a><em>Mahidasht Agro-Industry of Kermanshah<\/em> received $511 million in subsidized currency, while another subsidiary, <em>Ava Tejarat Saba<\/em>, took $290 million \u2014 despite a previous scandal over unfulfilled import obligations worth \u20ac31.5 million.<br \/>\nThe family\u2019s firms now control nearly half of Iran\u2019s corn import operations, a monopoly that has devastated domestic producers and driven up food costs nationwide.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> The Fazli Family \u2014 Golrang Group and \u201cOfogh Kourosh\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/golrang.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Golrang Group<\/a>, known for its <em>Ofogh Kourosh<\/em> retail chain and brands such as <em>Oila<\/em> and <em>Famila<\/em>, is among the top ten recipients of state-subsidized currency for \u201cessential imports.\u201d Yet, according to <em>Tabnak<\/em>, it has repeatedly failed to meet its import commitments, raising serious questions about where the funds have gone. Despite previous violations recorded by the Central Bank, the group continues to receive vast allocations, highlighting regime complicity in shielding corporate allies.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> The Paydari Family \u2014 Mihan\u2019s Hidden Empire<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Best known for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mihan-food.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Mihan Ice Cream<\/em><\/a>, Ayoub Paydari\u2019s conglomerate extends far beyond dairy.
