Iran\u2019s Misogynist Courts Free Rapist Then Sentence Woman Opponent to Death<\/h3>\n

Iran\u2019s wretched judicial system was in the spotlight again today as it emerged a 67-year-old woman political dissident was facing the hangman\u2019s noose the same week action against a male serial rapist dubbed \u201cDevil of Tehran\u201d was scrapped.\u00a0Zahra Tabari was sentenced to death after a \u201ctrial\u201d lasting 10 minutes. She was neither allowed to attend the proceedings nor appoint a lawyer of her choice. She is now on death row in the regime\u2019s Lakan Prison in Rasht.<\/p>\n

By contrast, only days ago, to the horror of nine female rape victims, the same Iranian legal system overturned two death sentences faced by the so-called \u201cDevil of Tehran\u201d for prowling the city\u2019s streets with a knife and pepper spray.<\/p>\n

UK Monitoring Iran Links to Western Sahara<\/h3>\n

The government has said it is monitoring alleged Iranian activity in the Western Sahara but has not seen evidence of direct Iranian support for the Polisario Front, following a debate in the House of Lords on 27 October. Foreign Office Minister Baroness Chapman of Darlington told peers that\u00a0\u201cthe UK has not seen evidence of Iranian support for the Polisario Front. However, we continue to monitor Iranian activity in the region.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0She added that the government\u00a0\u201chas long condemned Iran\u2019s destabilising provision of political, military and financial support to its proxies and partners,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and would continue to work with allies to counter such actions.<\/p>\n

The discussion followed reports suggesting links between Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Polisario, a movement seeking independence for Western Sahara from Morocco. Lord Godson, who tabled the question, said there was\u00a0\u201copen-source evidence of a mutual admiration society between the present Iranian regime, the IRGC and the Polisario,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and asked whether the government would reassess the available intelligence.<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s regime set an unprecedented record in the past 36 years with 280 announced executions in the Persian month of Mehr (September 23 \u2013 October 22, 2025)\u2014one execution every two and a half hours. In response, Iran\u2019s rebellious youth issued 20 fiery warnings to the regime, setting an example of resistance for the people and youth of Iran. With this unprecedented bloodshed and the creation of an atmosphere of terror and fear, the regime is trying to block the eruption of anger from the rebellious youth and the people\u2019s uprising.<\/p>\n
