Lebanon Vows Crackdown on Illicit Finance After US Sanctions Hezbollah Members<\/h3>\n

Lebanon’<\/a>s President\u00a0Joseph Aoun<\/a>\u00a0told US officials on Sunday his country was tackling money laundering and the financing of terrorism, days after Washington imposed sanctions on three\u00a0Hezbollah\u00a0<\/a>members.<\/p>\n

The trio were accused of money laundering to fund\u00a0Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group, designated a terrorist organisation by the\u00a0United States<\/a>\u00a0and other Western powers.<\/p>\n

The US delegation’s visit to Beirut, headed by senior director for counterterrorism Sebastian Gorka, came as Washington works to cut off Iran-backed Hezbollah’s funding and\u00a0Lebanon’s government tries to disarm it.<\/p>\n

On November 7, 2025, in response to the oppressive security forces and the corrupt municipality in Ahvaz\u2014the perpetrators responsible for the destruction of a kiosk that led to the heartbreaking self-immolation of a young Arab citizen\u2014Iran\u2019s heroic rebellious youth set fire to a regime building in Tehran\u2019s District 7. This act was carried out in solidarity with the grieving and protesting citizens of Ahvaz. On the evening of Thursday, November 6, 2025, they gathered in front of Taleghani Hospital, demanding the prosecution of those responsible for the self-immolation of Ahmad Baldi, a 20-year-old student. Baldi set himself on fire on Sunday, November 2, 2025, to protest the destruction of his father\u2019s kiosk by the regime\u2019s municipality agents and security forces.<\/p>\n

Olympians Call on Iran to Halt Execution of Boxing Champion<\/h3>\n

More than 20 Olympic medallists, coaches and other international athletes, including the tennis player Martina Navratilova and the swimmer Sharron Davies, have signed a letter calling for a halt to the execution of a boxing champion and coach, who is on death row in\u00a0Iran<\/a>.\u00a0Amid growing international outrage over Iran\u2019s escalating use of capital punishment as a tool of oppression, the\u00a0strongly worded letter<\/a>\u00a0condemns the Iranian regime\u2019s decision to uphold the death sentence of Mohammad Javad Vafaei Sani.<\/p>\n

Vafaei Sani, 30, from Mashhad in north-east Iran, was arrested for taking part in\u00a0nationwide protests in 2019<\/a>\u00a0and accused of supporting an opposition group, the People\u2019s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (MEK). He has spent five years in prison, where he has been tortured and kept in solitary confinement.<\/p>\n

Zahra Khan Babaii Executed in Bandar Abbas Prison<\/h3>\n

According to fresh reports, Zahra Khan Babaii, a female prisoner, was executed in Bandar Abbas Prison in the early hours of Wednesday, October 15, 2025. She had been convicted on drug-related charges. No more details are known about this execution. Under the mullahs\u2019 rule in Iran, the operatives of the Revolutionary Guards\u2019 network, who traffic vast quantities of narcotics and addict the youth of Iran and the Middle East, openly supply prisoners in the regime\u2019s jails with drugs to break their resistance. Those responsible not only face no punishment but enjoy lives of extreme luxury, while vulnerable individuals such as Zahra Khan Babaii, driven by extreme poverty and unemployment, are sentenced to death and executed.<\/p>\n
