From Yasuj’s Protest Against Pezeshkian to the ‘No to Execution Tuesdays’ Campaign in 16 Cities<\/em><\/h3>\n

In recent days, Iran has witnessed a growing number of popular protests against the oppression, corruption, and destructive policies of the clerical regime. From a courageous confrontation with Massoud Pezeshkian in Yasuj to the expansion of the ‘No to Execution Tuesdays’ campaign and gatherings of various social sectors, the unified voice of the Iranian people calling for change has resonated.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, December 4, during a visit by Massoud Pezeshkian<\/a> to Yasuj, residents, students, and environmental activists, including many courageous Lori women and girls, gathered in front of the provincial governor’s office. They protested the regime’s destructive environmental policies, specifically the construction of the ill-conceived Khersan-3 and Mandegan dams. The people chanted: ‘Pezeshkian, come out!’ and ‘Answer the people!’. This protest occurred as Pezeshkian, in a meeting with local officials, said, ‘Pretend this is Japan and solve the problems,’ even as he admitted to ‘5 quadrillion tomans worth of unfinished projects’ in the country. The protesters emphasized that these projects pose a serious threat to the future of the region’s water resources. One of the brave women at the rally stated that in Iran’s 7,000-year history, no government has been more anti-people than the current one.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Tehran, coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a group of people with disabilities gathered in front of the regime’s parliament. They protested the failure to fully implement supportive laws and their dire living conditions. Chanting ‘Enough oppression, our tables are empty!’, they declared that years of false promises have made their lives unbearable.<\/p>\n

In Shush, workers at a sugar company continued their strike for the fifth consecutive day to protest the violation of their rights. In Shiraz, a group of poultry farmers from Fars province gathered in front of the provincial governor’s office to protest the sharp increase in the price of animal feed and the failure to receive their allocated government rations. They warned that the continuation of this situation would lead to a halt in production, a surge in chicken prices, and additional pressure on people’s livelihoods.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, December 2, the ‘No to Execution Tuesdays’ campaign<\/a> marked its 97th week inside 55 prisons. On the eve of Student’s Day (December 7), the campaign also held activities in 16 Iranian cities, with widespread support from families and youth. The families of political prisoners sentenced to death in Sonqor, Tehran, and Tabriz held pictures of their loved ones and demanded an immediate halt to the regime’s killing machine. Simultaneously, rebellious youth used graffiti and posted flyers in Isfahan, Shiraz, and dozens of other cities, demanding the immediate cancellation of the death sentences for prisoners such as Ehsan Faridi<\/a>, Vahid Baniamerian<\/a>, and Mohammad Javad Vafaei Sani<\/a>.<\/p>\n
