The Iranian Regime Is Faltering<\/h3>\n

Berlin \u2013 When Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated this week that we are witnessing \u201cthe final days and weeks\u201d of the Iranian regime, he sent a signal of a fundamental shift in European Iran policy. For the first time, a head of government of Europe\u2019s largest economic power spoke aloud a truth that we in the Iranian resistance have known for years: this regime is at its end. During the many years of my work with the National Council of Resistance of Iran in Germany (NCRI), I have experienced the regime\u2019s desperation at close hand.<\/p>\n

It has dispatched agents to recruit informants and spies against our office \u2014 including attempts directed personally at me \u2014 and offered Iranians \u201cgood money\u201d if they were willing to betray their fellow countrymen. This year alone, it has harassed more than one hundred Iranian-born citizens in Germany, threatened families, and applied pressure. This is not the behavior of a self-confident government. It is the desperate thrashing of a dying system.<\/p>\n
