Sen.\u00a0Ted Cruz<\/a>\u00a0called for the U.S. to arm Iranian protesters Tuesday as unrest continues inside the nation and Iran-backed militias issued threats against Washington.<\/p>\n

“We should be arming the protesters in Iran. NOW,” Cruz wrote in a post on X.<\/p>\n

“For the\u00a0Iranian people<\/a>\u00a0to overthrow the Ayatollah \u2014 a tyrant who routinely chants \u2018death to America\u2019 \u2014 would make America much, much safer,” the Texas Republican added.<\/p>\n

“They are killing people in such ways, they\u2019ve descended upon people so brutally, they\u2019re attacking us in such ways… We\u2019ve lost so many lives that no one dares go out anymore. They shoot directly with bullets. They kill outright. And even after killing, they come and behead you, and do countless other violent things to you,” it continued.<\/p>\n

Italy Urges EU to List Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps As ‘Terrorist Organisation’<\/h3>\n

Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani urged the EU on Monday to proscribe Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a “terrorist organisation” following Tehran’s deadly crackdown on country-wide mass protests over the past weeks. Tajani said he would propose the idea “in coordination with other partners” at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Thursday.<\/p>\n

“The losses suffered by the civilian population during the protests demand a clear response,” he wrote in a post on X, calling for the EU to levy individual sanctions against those responsible.<\/p>\n

US-based rights group Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) said on Monday it had confirmed the deaths of nearly 6,000 people during the protests and was investigating another 17,000 possible fatalities.<\/p>\n

Implementation of Iran-Related United Nations Security Council Resolutions<\/h3>\n

The United States of America, along with 40 countries, gathered last week in Prague, the Czech Republic for a symposium designed to further advance the implementation of the reimposed United Nations Security Council resolutions (UNSCRs) on the Iranian regime. Participants discussed the full range of issues affecting UN Member State implementation of the renewed obligations. The symposium served as an opportunity to secure commitments from several attending countries that intend to receive country- and sector-specific technical security assistance from the United States to maximize the impact of sanctions on the Iranian regime.<\/p>\n

The symposium featured discussions on the threats posed by the Iranian regime\u2019s nuclear, ballistic missile, and conventional arms activities. Participants discussed the importance of using all relevant national measures and capabilities to implement the provisions enumerated in the restored resolutions more robustly.<\/p>\n

London TV Station \u2018Is Propaganda Arm\u2019 of Iran\u2019s Revolutionary Guards<\/h3>\n

A London-based television station has been accused of operating as the propaganda arm of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).\u00a0Minister have been warned that LuaLua TV is part of Tehran\u2019s \u201ccovert influence\u201d operation and must be shut down.<\/p>\n

The IRGC, known as the Ayatollah\u2019s \u201cterror army\u201d, has played a leading role in the violent suppression of\u00a0pro-democracy protests in Iran<\/a>. More than 3,000 people have been killed, according to Iranian state media, with demonstrators shot dead in the street.<\/p>\n

Sir Keir Starmer\u00a0has refused to proscribe the IRGC<\/a>\u00a0as a terrorist organisation, despite being urged to by senior Labour figures as well as Tory and Reform UK politicians, and the White House.<\/p>\n
