The demonstration echoed the message that Iranians reject dictatorship in any form, whether theocracy or monarchy, and insist that Iran\u2019s future must be built on popular sovereignty, democratic rights, and a secular state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A number of speakers addressed the crowd, stressing both the scale of the uprising inside Iran and the responsibility of the international community to stand with the Iranian people\u2019s demand for fundamental change. One of the central moments of the program was message from Mrs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maryam-rajavi.com\/en\/demonstrators-munich-security-conference-democratic-republic-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maryam Rajavi<\/a>, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In her remarks, Mrs. Rajavi declared: \u201cIranian society is on the path of a democratic revolution, toward a democratic republic.\u201d She saluted the participants as \u201cthe unquenchable voice of Iran\u2019s uprising\u201d and said their gathering carried the message of those \u201cslain in the blood-soaked days of January.\u201d She outlined what she called three decisive messages from the sacrifices made in the uprising: first, that it once again proves the Iranian people\u2019s \u201cunwavering and irreversible determination to overthrow the regime in its entirety\u201d; second, that the route to change is \u201corganized uprising,\u201d in which rebellious youth and Resistance Units play a decisive role; and third, that Ali Khamenei is prepared to unleash mass street killings rather than surrender the crumbling foundations of absolute clerical rule.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Message to Iranian demonstrators rallying concurrently with the Munich Security Conference-<br \/>\nIranian society is on the path of a democratic revolution, toward a democratic republic<br \/>\nThe ocean of blood spilled from the body of a nation yearning for liberty conveys three\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qweRGh8QKO\">pic.twitter.com\/qweRGh8QKO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Maryam Rajavi (@Maryam_Rajavi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Maryam_Rajavi\/status\/2022280029749510147?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 13, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mrs. Rajavi also drew a sharp line against attempts to divert the uprising by reviving nostalgia for monarchy. \u201cThe remnants of the Shah\u2019s dictatorship who seek to derail the uprising and exploit the blood and suffering of the people are laboring in vain,\u201d she said, adding that in Iran\u2019s democratic future there is \u201cno place for those who already promise a new one-man autocracy.\u201d She underlined that a nation that has paid such a high price for freedom will not trade one dictatorship for another: \u201cA people who have paid such a terrible price for freedom and democracy\u2026 will never exchange it for the former monarchical dictatorship.\u201d She emphasized the shared principles increasingly voiced by protesters and the diaspora, led by the slogan \u201cNo to the Shah, No to the Mullahs,\u201d alongside the separation of religion and state, women\u2019s equal rights, and rejection of appeasement, war, and foreign intervention.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mrs. Rajavi then called on world leaders attending the Munich Security Conference to respond to what she described as the Iranian people\u2019s legitimate demands, including recognizing the right of rebellious youth and Resistance Units to confront the IRGC, urgent action at the UN to halt executions, guaranteeing unrestricted access to free internet, and pursuing accountability for regime leaders for crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the keynote speakers, <strong>John Bercow<\/strong>, former Speaker of the UK House of Commons, delivered a forceful address against the IRGC and against any attempt to present a return to monarchy as an alternative to Tehran\u2019s rule. He described the ruling establishment as \u201can organized, institutionalized butcher\u2019s shop\u2026 in power by lies, by deceit, by manipulation, and by the continued bloodthirsty use of a repressive state apparatus.\u201d Bercow told the crowd that the regime has been in power \u201c47 years too long,\u201d and endorsed the protesters\u2019 core demand: \u201cYou know what you\u2019re talking about when you say, \u2018No Shah, no Mullah!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">&#8220;The alternative to the dictatorship of the mullahs (in Iran) is not to go back to the past, to the son of the Shah or to some sort of feudal lord. He called the invitation a \u201cmassive error of judgement\u201d and argued that the alternative to theocracy is not monarchy: \u201cBecause the alternative to the bloodthirsty tyranny in Tehran is not to go back to monarchy\u2026 We don\u2019t want a dictatorship in Iran, whether of the Mullahs or of the Shah or of the son of the Shah!\u201d He added that change must come from within Iran and that the international community should stop legitimizing divisive figures while focusing on accountability, including action to end executions, terrorist designation of the IRGC, and financial pressure on the regime.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bercow praised Mrs. Rajavi\u2019s leadership and the NCRI\u2019s democratic vision, saying: \u201cI have never met a more determined, gutsy, courageous or articulate campaigner for change to democracy in the world than Mrs. Maryam Rajavi. He stated that the January uprising made the people\u2019s will unmistakable: they seek \u201cthe complete overthrow of the theocratic dictatorship\u201d and reject tyranny \u201cin all its forms.\u201d Highlighting the rally\u2019s central chant, Stevenson stressed that \u201cDown with the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Supreme Leader\u201d captures the public rejection of both the current regime and the former monarchy. He criticized the effort to elevate Reza Pahlavi, calling it \u201cmanufactured and cynical,\u201d and describing him as \u201ca man with no organization inside Iran, no record of meaningful struggle against tyranny\u2026 living comfortably in exile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stevenson argued that some media outlets have enabled this \u201ccharade\u201d while avoiding scrutiny of Pahlavi\u2019s record, including his refusal to clearly condemn the crimes of his father\u2019s dictatorship, citing SAVAK, prisons, repression, and the silencing of dissent. He denounced the Munich Security Conference invitation as an attempt to anoint leadership from above rather than respect the resistance emerging through organized struggle. \u201cDemocracy cannot be imposed from hotel conference rooms in Europe,\u201d he said, insisting that legitimacy comes from the streets inside Iran and from those who have risked imprisonment, torture, and execution.
