The Washington Post\u00a0reported that Russia is providing Iran with targeting information including the locations of U.S. warships and aircraft in the region. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/world-nation\/story\/2026-03-06\/russia-has-provided-iran-with-information-that-can-help-tehran-strike-u-s-military-ap-sources-say\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AP separately reported<\/a> that U.S. intelligence indicates Russia has provided information that could help Iran strike American assets, though U.S. officials said there is no evidence Moscow is directing Tehran\u2019s decisions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Iranian state media in the last 10 to 12 hours presented a sharply different picture. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presstv.ir\/Detail\/2026\/03\/06\/765051\/iran-welcomes-awaits-us-scort-tankers-strait-hormuz-irgc-spox-press-tv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Press TV claimed<\/a> that the regime had launched the 22nd wave of \u201cOperation True Promise 4\u201d and quoted an IRGC spokesman welcoming any U.S. escort of tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. Mehr reported that Iran had \u201cnot yet used its new weapons,\u201d repeated official accusations over the Minab school strike, and said President Masoud Pezeshkian had ruled out hesitation in defending the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"48\" data-end=\"950\">Pressure on Tehran also intensified from Arab capitals. Bahrain also reported an Iranian strike on a hotel and two residential buildings in Manama, causing material damage but no deaths.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1452\" data-end=\"2248\">The conflict also spilled into Iraq\u2019s Kurdistan region and the Caucasus. <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/kurds-iran-iraq-us-4b2ce1d3d960c1951fc08faac8fa7745\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kurdish Iranian dissident groups<\/a> in northern Iraq said they would not launch attacks from Iraqi territory, even as tensions rose after previous strikes on their bases, while Azerbaijan accused Iran of a drone attack on Nakhchivan and said it was evacuating diplomatic staff from Tehran and Tabriz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"2253\" data-end=\"2745\">Axios reported that dozens of IRGC officers, mainly from the Quds Force, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2026\/03\/06\/lebanon-israel-iran-irgc-hezbollah\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">left Beirut<\/a> over the past two days for fear of being targeted, while Lebanon moved to curb IRGC activity on its soil as Israeli strikes intensified.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong style=\"text-align: justify;\">UPDATE: 12:00 PM CET<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tehran Hit by Heavy Strikes as Iranian Media Vows Escalation and Regional Fallout Grows<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1374\" data-end=\"1972\">Tehran came under some of the heaviest bombardment of the war early Friday, while Israel also widened attacks in Lebanon after ordering an unprecedented evacuation of Beirut\u2019s southern suburbs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/world\/iran\/live-blog\/live-updates-iran-war-israel-strikes-tehran-beirut-trump-leader-rcna262018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC News reported<\/a> especially intense strikes in Tehran, including in civilian and residential areas, while Reuters described the Beirut evacuation order and overnight bombing as a major expansion of the conflict\u2019s regional footprint. AP separately reported that the U.S. struck Iranian naval and missile assets, including the drone carrier IRIS Shahid Bagheri.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1974\" data-end=\"2678\">Iranian state media framed the latest phase around civilian losses, legal self-defense and broader retaliation. Press TV reported Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warning of a \u201cdecisive\u201d response to any new aggressive act, Iran\u2019s U.N. envoy saying Tehran would continue defending itself until the attacks end, and military officials saying Iranian strikes would expand in the coming days. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presstv.ir\/Detail\/2026\/03\/06\/765031\/Iran-warns-decisive-response-to-any-aggressive-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Press TV also reported<\/a> the 21st wave of Operation True Promise 4, saying Khayber missiles and drones were used against Tel Aviv. The WHO also said it had verified 13 attacks on health facilities in Iran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"3859\" data-end=\"4549\">The broader crisis is now disrupting relief and transport networks well beyond the battlefield. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/middle-east-situation-is-major-humanitarian-emergency-un-refugee-agency-says-2026-03-06\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters quoted<\/a> UNHCR calling the situation a \u201cmajor humanitarian emergency,\u201d with about 100,000 people displaced inside Iran and roughly 100,000 in shelters in Lebanon. Oil markets also remain on edge, with Reuters reporting that U.S. officials were considering but for now ruling out Treasury intervention in oil futures.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">4 Men Arrested in UK on Suspicion of Aiding Iran by Spying on Jewish Community<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">LONDON (AP) \u2014 London police said Friday that four men have been arrested on suspicion of aiding Iran by spying on the Jewish community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said the suspects \u2014 one Iranian and three dual British-Iranian nationals \u2014 were taken into custody on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service.
