The Revolutionary Guard\u2019s\u00a0arsenal\u2014ballistic missiles, drones, nuclear-threshold technology\u2014is built for regional blackmail and setting the Middle East ablaze, not for\u00a0containing\u00a0the explosive grievances that have defined Iranian society for years.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The economy\u00a0remains\u00a0in free fall: runaway inflation, a collapsed currency, and\u00a0basic necessities\u00a0priced out of reach for millions. Billions in sanctions relief flowed into Iran in the wake of the 2015 JCPOA. Two years later, in 2017-2018, the first major nationwide uprising erupted\u2014not because the money reached ordinary citizens, but precisely because it did not. Instead, it fed the <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2026\/03\/02\/iran-islamic-revolutionary-guard-irgc-business-empire-economy-us-israel-bombing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guard\u2019s economic empire<\/a> and foreign proxies. In this context, \u201cForough 2\u201d signifies the regime\u2019s fear of a second, more organized challenge: an organized nationwide uprising led by the MEK\u2019s Resistance Units that could overwhelm the system\u2019s decaying foundations.
