The existence of a permanent enemy becomes a condition for internal cohesion. Moreover, such regimes use external tensions to divert attention from their internal crises.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"694\" data-end=\"1104\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">While the regime\u2019s capacity for resilience in the face of bombings and military attacks may have exceeded some expectations, its ability to withstand popular dissent remains extremely fragile.
