The allegation was presented during court proceedings and forms part of the evidence submitted by prosecutors.\u00a0According to\u00a0<em>The New York Times<\/em>, prosecutors said that in May 2022, Hadi Matar sent a message to an individual in Iran identified as \u201cKamyar.\u201d According to prosecutors, Matar wrote that he knew Rushdie\u2019s location but had questions about how to carry out the attack.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the same court documents, Matar also asked whether the death fatwa against Salman Rushdie remained valid.
