Inmates across 62 facilities nationwide conducted coordinated hunger strikes to protest a sharp acceleration in state executions and escalating political repression.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the statement, state authorities hanged at least 11 prisoners over the past week alone, bringing the total number of recorded executions since late August to over 45.
