ILNA reported that pensioners said their income did not cover even half the month and complained that arrears were being paid \u201cdrop by drop.\u201d Protesters demanded higher pensions, healthcare, protection of Social Security assets and repayment of government debts to the fund.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The livelihood gap is severe. Labor reporting has put the monthly cost of maintaining a working-class household at roughly 90 million tomans, against minimum earnings far below that level. Residents around Esfarayen have meanwhile described prolonged water disruptions; Tasnim had separately reported water cuts or severe pressure loss affecting 11 villages there. Fuel is another pressure point: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mehrnews.com\/news\/6940044\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mehr News Agency reported<\/a> September consumption reaching 145 million liters a day against production of about 135 million, while government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani said on September 12 that subsidized quotas would remain unchanged \u201cfor now\u201d but that changes could follow within three months.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The ruling establishment is simultaneously confronting armed insecurity, accelerating <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/economic?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#economic<\/a> pressure and an internal political struggle intense enough for its own officials to speak openly of presidential removal, a \u201ccoup\u201d and the danger of an \u201cexplosion.\u201d<br \/>by Dr.\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NCRI-FAC (@iran_policy) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/iran_policy\/status\/2098852960780300650?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 12, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Oil, Security and Repression<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The fuel debate coincides with an extraordinary oil dispute. MP Hossein <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tabnak.ir\/fa\/news\/1394122\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Samsami said<\/a> more than 86 million barrels were transferred on credit to one person, only 30 million reached the final buyer, and \u201cthe fate of more than 56 million barrels of oil is unclear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Security pressure is also continuing in the southeast. On September 12, the IRGC\u2019s Quds regional headquarters said three Guards personnel and four armed opponents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mehrnews.com\/news\/6945103\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">were killed in Saravan<\/a> in an operation involving the IRGC, police and Intelligence Ministry. State broadcaster IRIB said the group had been preparing an assassination; later state reporting raised the number of armed opponents killed to five.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pressure on dissent remains visible elsewhere. Tasnim reported on September 7 that two Shahid Beheshti University students had received preliminary disciplinary rulings involving expulsion and a two-semester suspension over what it called university \u201cunrest.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&quot;Iran\u2019s ruling establishment is confronting fresh domestic pressure as a deadly <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hashtag\/security?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#security<\/a> operation in Mehran, another state-approved tariff increase and new evidence of collapsing purchasing power expose strains on both the state and ordinary Iranians,&quot; writes <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MansoreGolestan?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MansoreGolestan<\/a>.\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; NCRI-FAC (@iran_policy) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/iran_policy\/status\/2098141547850244300?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 10, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Infighting Turns Nuclear<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Domestic strain is feeding an increasingly public struggle inside the establishment over war, negotiations and responsibility for Iran\u2019s predicament. Mehdi Fazaeli, an official associated with the supreme leader\u2019s publication office, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.khabaronline.ir\/news\/2274240\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attacked former president<\/a> Hassan Rouhani as the head of the \u201cmost inefficient\u201d post-revolutionary government and portrayed him as one of the establishment\u2019s least popular and most isolated former presidents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ahmad Alamolhoda, the supreme leader\u2019s representative in Mashhad, attacked the same political current on September 11, blaming Rouhani\u2019s nuclear agreement for the current war. Rejecting arguments for ending prolonged confrontation, he said that if the enemy fought Iran for \u201c200 years, 2,000 years or even 200,000 years,\u201d Iran would have to continue defending itself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The confrontation is now reaching the nuclear question.
