He was sentenced by the clerical court to 80 lashes.<\/p>\n<p>In recent wave of executions across Iran, political prisoners and opponents of the regime are hanged along with ordinary prisoners. <\/p>\n<p>The suppressive anti-riot forces were called in to prevent any outbreak of protest as public discontent is rising. Inhuman punishments are carried out in public to create a reign of repression and fear among ordinary people on streets but this is loosing its impact.
