State-run media reported that nine death sentences were handed down in the past nine days, including three yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>These bring to 80 the number of hangings and death sentences in the fourth months since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad&#8217;s election, representing a 100 percent increase compared to the first six months of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Two women, Soghra and Raheleh, were among those sentenced to death, one by stoning.
