Polling was conducted for the BBC World Service by the international polling firm GlobeScan from 17,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Iran&rsquo;s global image remains quite negative. On average a majority (54%) sees Iran&rsquo;s influence in the world as mainly negative (unchanged from 2007),&quot; the survey indicated.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Negative views toward Iran have increased considerably in five countries, growing in Turkey (61%, up from 46%), Kenya (68%, up from 60%), Russia (45%, up from 37%) and Germany (85%, up from 78%),&quot; the report added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&ldquo;The poll suggests that Iran continues to pay a price for its nuclear stand-off with the United Nations. World opinion continues to see it as the country having the most negative influence,&quot; the report quoted Doug Miller, president of GlobeScan.<\/p>\n<p>For the survey a total of&nbsp; 17,457 citizens in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Egypt, El Salvador, France, Germany, Ghana, Great Britain, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Panama, the Philippines, Portugal, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, the UAE, and the United States were interviewed face-to-face or by telephone between October 31, 2007 and January 25, 2008. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NCRI- According to an annual survey of people in 34 countries, Iran under the mullahs&#8217; rule scored worst in the polls.
