NCRI – In an interview with Iraqi News Agency (INA), Sheikh Khalaf al-Alyan, the President of Iraqi Council for National Dialogue and a member of Iraqi Parliament condemned the attack and harassment of the Ashraf residents, members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI). He said that applying force by Iraqi troops stationed at Camp Ashraf by the order of Iraqi National Security Advisor, Muwaffaq al-Rubaie is not acceptable. <\/p>\n
He described the move as an attempt to implement the orders of mullahs' Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei in his meeting with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani to expel PMOI from the city of Ashraf. The Iraqi forces have tried to take over the dormitories belonging to the women in Ashraf. <\/p>\n
Sheikh Khalaf said that the PMOI members were guests of the Iraqi people. They have been in this country for a long time and have not done anything against Iraqi people, thus, they enjoy great respect and support of large segments of the Iraqi people. Such impositions on the PMOI members are designed in Iran. <\/p>\n
We deplore and condemn any interference in the affairs of Camp Ashraf and call on those concerned to respect them. The PMOI members are committed to the international conventions. They respect all sectors of the Iraqi people since the early days of their arrival in Iraq. The members of the PMOI set an example of impartiality, commitment and respect for international and Iraqi laws. These people are protected under the Fourth Geneva Convention and we therefore remind the Iraqi government and demand the U.S. troops to provide security for Ashraf residents and ensure non-interference in the affairs at the camp. <\/p>\n
In the name of the Iraqi people, we call on the Iraqi troops not to harm the residents of Ashraf City and refrain from interfering with the affairs. <\/p>\n
The troops should protect the Ashraf City from outside its walls and may never enter it. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
