NCRI – After Thursday’s uprising in Tehran, the Social Headquarters of the main opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK), inside the country, released a report to the Iranian people about the details of the Iranian regime’s suppression on July 9.<\/p>\n
According to the report, the Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Hejazi, and Brig. Gen. Fazli, the commander of the IRGC’s Seyyed al-Shohada, were in charge of Thursday’s operations from the so-called Sarallah base in Tehran. The crackdown was carried out by the IRGC, the paramilitary Bassij Force, agents from the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), State Security Forces (SSF), anti-riot forces, and plainclothes agents belonging to special forces backing the Supreme Leader, acting in effect as Ali Khamenei’s exclusive army. The Sarallah base and the special forces backing the Supreme Leader have their own independent motorbike units.<\/p>\n
The regime had also brought units from the terrorist Qods Force to various locations in Tehran to suppress Iranian youth, the PMOI’s Social Headquarters in Iran added.<\/p>\n
According to a report by the Sarallah base’s commander in Tehran, the number of protestors in Kargar Shomali Street and Vanak Square were more than 5,000, and in 23 other locations in Tehran, the number of protestors reached anywhere between 3,000 to 4,000 people.<\/p>\n
MOIS agents, Bassij militiamen, plainclothes agents, and especially the Supreme Leader’s special forces, were specifically told to outshine and replace the crowds’ “Death to Khamenei” slogans with other religious or non-religious chants. The tactic was used by the regime’s forces in various parts of Tehran, including Vali Asr intersection and in front of the University of Tehran. But, each time, the courageous protestors refused to relinquish the “Death to Khamenei” slogan and even chanted it louder, according to the PMOI’s Social Headquarters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
