Camp Ashraf, in Iraq, is home to more than 3,400 Iranian dissidents, members of the main opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI\/MEK).<\/p>\n
Zahra Jabbari, 36, is married and has a child. She was arrested during the protests of September 18, and was violently beaten after. She was transferred to solitary confinement in Ward 209 of the notorious Evin prison in Tehran without receiving proper medical care. She spent two months in solitary confinement under physical and psychological torture. The regime has taken her to the third branch of the so-called “Revolutionary Court” interrogation on several occasions, but her case is still not finalized.<\/p>\n
Currently, a large number of female political prisoners are being held at the women’s section of Evin prison under inhumane conditions and are deprived of minimum requirements. Some of the prisoners include Nazila Dashti, Sabnam Madadzadeh, Mahsa Naderi, Fatemeh Ziai, Atefeh Nabavi, Monireh Rabii, and Sedigheh Falahatzadeh.<\/p>\n
The clerical regime has delayed the hearing for Fatemeh Ziai, one of the political prisoners, for the fourth time in an attempt to impose more pressure on her.<\/p>\n
Fatemeh Ziai, 52, has been detained without charge for the past 10 months, and has spent at least three months in solitary confinement. She suffers from M.S. and the clerical regime’s henchmen prevent her from accessing her medication. Her doctor has told the court in a letter that due to overwhelming pressure in prison and the severity of her condition, Ms. Ziai’s life is now in serious danger. The regime’s henchmen at Ward 209 of Evin prison have completely ignore such calls.<\/p>\n
Prior to this, Ms. Ziai had spent five years under torture in the Iranian regime’s medieval prisons in the 1980s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
