It is the first time that such regulations have been put in place at university level in the country. This regulation entails seven chapters and 23 sections and has already been distributed amongst the students.<\/p>\n
Some of the rules reflected in the disciplinary regulations are as follows:
1- Ban on short sleeve shirts
2- Loose outfits must be worn
3- Wearing T shirts forbidden for male students
4- Wearing garments with sharp colors are forbidden for female students
5- Long nails are forbidden for female students
6- Students must bath regularly
7- Male students must have short hair
8- Shoes with heals higher than 3 centimeters may not be worn
9- Pointed shoes must not be worn<\/p>\n
In chapter 6 of the disciplinary regulations titled "behavior", it is mentioned that such acts like talking, joking, and laughing out with loud voice in elevators and coffee shop are banned. <\/p>\n
In the final chapter, students have been threatened that in the event of repeated violations they will be referred to the disciplinary committee.<\/p>\n
The disciplinary regulations that was recently distributed amongst the students, was ready for implementation at least three months ago. University management had not implemented the new regulations in this period, because of the students’ objections and protests. <\/p>\n
According to yet other news received after the meeting of the President of the university with the students, a number of Basiji students had protested about poor social condition. These people, who were not all students, were yelling out slogans demanding the university authorities to implement the new regulations. <\/p>\n
These people objected to students choice of clothing, and also demanded that issues such as “cigarette smoking, inappropriate and unnecessary mixing” to be dealt with and the names of delinquent individuals be given to officials of the Disciplinary Committee. <\/p>\n
It is reported that after the protest by these individuals, some state institutions outside the university have pushed the authorities at the university to implement the aforementioned regulations. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
