On June 12, despite deploying an unprecedented number of security forces, which included the police, plainclothes and intelligence agents, people used every opportunity in different parts of Tehran and other cities, to voice their dissent. <\/p>\n

On June 12, despite deploying an unprecedented number of security forces, which included the police, plainclothes and intelligence agents, people used every opportunity in different parts of Tehran and other cities, to voice their dissent. <\/p>\n
Repressive forces brutally attacked any protest by the people, which led to a large number of people being arrested. <\/p>\n
Fars news agency, affiliated to the regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC\/Pasdaran) reported, Radan , Tehran’s deputy chief of police announced that on June 12 some protesters were arrested. While claiming that "We encountered no problems," he admitted, “Few people were arrested in Tehran as suspects by intelligence agents. Upon completion of their cases, they will be sent to the judiciary.”<\/p>\n
Of the so called “few arrests”, as alleged by Tehran’s deputy chief of police, so far 90 have been released, 60 of whom women.
The families of the detainees who had gathered in front of the State Security Force (SSF) headquarters in Tehran demanding their children’s freedom led to the release of 90 of the prisoners. The fate of other detainees remains unknown although reports indicate that some of the protesters upon arrest were transferred to “Vozara detention center” and “Evin prison”.
Other reports indicate in other cities, including Mashad, dozens of people were also arrested. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
