NCRI – The Iranian regime\u2019s media are suggesting that thousands of documents recently \u200erevealed on Iraq were revealed by the US government itself and harbor an intention to \u200epursue certain ends against the clerical regime.\u200e<\/p>\n
The documents were made public last week by the website WikiLeaks and include many \u200ereports that chronicle the Iranian regime\u2019s destructive meddling in Iraq, including its \u200einvolvement in the commission of war crimes, assassinations, and torture by militias and \u200eIraqi security forces affiliated with the regime. The evidence also pointed to the role of \u200ethe government of Nouri al-Maliki in the torture and murder of many Iraqi citizens.\u200e<\/p>\n
In reaction<\/p>\n
to the revelations, the state-run Fars news agency, affiliated with the regime\u2019s \u200eIslamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said, \u201cIt seems that publicizing such \u200einformation is a fabrication by the US government to divert public opinion and \u200edisseminate big lies around the world that the US considers to be \u2018confidential facts.\u2019\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n
Another media outlet said, \u201cIn many instances, it is alleged that there is solid evidence \u200eregarding the role of the IRGC in murders, kidnappings, and bombings in Iraq.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n
Some news agencies tied to the faction of the mullahs\u2019 Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei \u200ealso seemed to take on a worried tone, saying that evidence in the documents point to the \u200erole of the Iranian regime in crimes committed in Iraq.\u200e<\/p>\n
The state-run Raja News, said, \u201cThe documents publicized by WikiLeaks include \u200enumerous reports and clear cases where the IRGC and especially the Qods Force are \u200eaccused of training Shiite Iraqi militias and smuggling weapons, rockets and sophisticated \u200ehand-made bombs.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n
\u200e\u201cThese documents allege that the Qods Force has in collaboration with the Lebanese \u200eHezbollah trained Iraqi Shiite militias at a base near Qom, and either killed or kidnapped \u200esome Iraqi officials and American soldiers,\u201d Raja News added.\u200e<\/p>\n
