{"id":9190,"date":"2010-11-02T10:41:12","date_gmt":"2010-11-02T10:41:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/issues\/human-rights\/9190-save-two-kurdish-political-prisoners-on-death-row"},"modified":"2023-01-13T17:27:26","modified_gmt":"2023-01-13T16:27:26","slug":"save-two-kurdish-political-prisoners-on-death-row","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/ncri-statements\/statement-human-rights\/save-two-kurdish-political-prisoners-on-death-row\/","title":{"rendered":"Save two Kurdish political prisoners on death row"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"edam-iran\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-36098\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ncr-iran.org\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2010\/11\/edam-iran.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Exacution\" width=\"143\" style=\"margin: 5px;float: left\" \/>NCRI &#8211; The Iranian Resistance expresses concern over the looming threat of execution of two political prisoners, Messrs Hossein Khezri and Habibollah Golpari-Poor, in Orumieh and Mahabad prisons and calls on the UN Secretary General, High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Working Group on Arbitrary Arrests, Special Rapporteur on Executions and Torture and all international organizations to take urgent actions to have the death sentences of political prisoners, namely the above mentioned prisoners, revoked.<\/p>\n<p>Hossein Khezri, 28, was sentenced to death charged with \u2018moharebeh\u2019 (waging war on God) during a Kangaroo trial lasting only a few minutes in 2008. Due to severe tortures in prisons and \u2018safe houses\u2019 in the cities of Kermanshah and Orumieh, Hossein Khezri has been suffering from various illnesses including sight deficiency, kidney bleeding and lung infection, leaving him in a very poor health condition. The Iranian regime\u2019s henchmen, however, are depriving this political prisoner of any medical care. Some time ago, the father of Hossein Khezri died of a stroke, unable to stand his young son\u2019s unbearable conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Habibollah Golpari-Poor, 27, was also condemned to execution charged with \u2018moharebeh\u2019 in late 2009.
