Continuation of relations with the regime must be made contingent upon complete halt on suppression and full improvement of human rights situation in Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Rajavi said: The clerical regime does not deserve to be among the family of the nations and must be rejected. The regime has targeted world security, peace and stability, particularly in the Middle East and Iraq. The revelation of thousands of documents on the regime\u2019s crimes in Iraq endorses this fact.<\/p>\n<p>The President-elect of the Resistance said that the only way to deal with this regime is to adopt a firm policy and impose comprehensive political, economic, oil and technological sanctions against it. Any delay or disruption in these areas, wittingly or unwittingly, would endanger peace in the region and the whole world on the one hand and help the regime in killing and suppression of Iranian people on the other.<\/p>\n<p>The latest resolution by the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly on Iran expressed \u201cits profound concern on serious and persistent violation of human rights\u201d by the clerical regime. According to the resolution that included use of excessive force, arbitrary arrests, using tortures and cruel, inhumane and derogatory treatment, amputation of body parts, as well as torture and violent interrogations to obtain confessions to be used in the regime\u2019s courts, marked increase in number of death penalties and executions in public, presence of at least 25 prisoners sentenced to execution as Mohareb (enemy of God),\u00a0 resorting to punishment of stoning to death, execution of minors and presence of 150 minors in death row and carrying punishments against adolescences, pervasive discrimination and institutionalized gender discrimination and violence against women, and not providing the rights of religious and ethnic minorities.<\/p>\n<p>The clerical regime from several months ago in Tehran, Geneva, New York, and other capitals, directly and through using other violators of human rights as intermediaries and by resorting to intimidation and offering incentives tried to prevent the adoption of this resolution that was the 57th censure resolution of the UN on Iranian regime\u2019s abuses.<\/p>\n<p>Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran<br \/>\nNovember 18, 2010<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>She called on world community to reject the Iranian regime NCRI &ndash; Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, welcomed adoption of a resolution by the Third Committee of [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[166],"tags":[175],"class_list":{"0":"post-9290","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-statement-iran-resistance","7":"tag-updated"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
