Citing eyewitnesses, the AFP reported clashes took place between demonstrators and regime forces at Tehran\u2019s Vali-e Asr Square, with security forces firing tear gas into the crowds.<\/p>\n

AFP also reported that several other squares in Tehran were also scenes of protests and clashes were reported. Demonstrations also took place in other cities such as Shiraz and Esfahan.<\/p>\n
According to the Washington Post, eyewitnesses said large crowds formed in various parts of Tehran on Sunday, clashing with the regime\u2019s security forces.<\/p>\n
An office worker reached by telephone told the paper, \u201cSecurity forces are hiding their faces behind masks \u2026 some main streets are very crowded, both with protesters and just as many security forces.”
