Tehran-linked TV stations in Iraq gather in Iran’s embassy to launch a new propaganda campaign against Ashraf

Camp Ashraf Military Occupation – No. 106

NCRI – Based on incoming reports from inside the Iranian regime, Quds Force agents have invited representatives of Tehran-linked TV stations in Iraq to the Iranian embassy in Baghdad. In addition to presenting gifts and money, the mullahs’ embassy called on them to initiate a new propaganda campaign against Ashraf residents. These TV channels, including al-Alam, al-Iraqiya, al-Forat, al-Massar, Afaq, al-Ghadir, Biladi and al-Watan, have been obligated to air fabricated reports prepared beforehand by the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) to prepare the grounds for another attack against Ashraf residents.

In his recent visit to Iraq, mullahs’ Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi notified Maliki of Khamenei’s new demands and instructions about new measures of repression against Ashraf. Salehi made it clear to Maliki that the clerical regime’s continued backing of his premiership – which is facing a downfall – is conditioned on implementing these demands. In this regard, Maliki has ordered his affiliated media outlets such as al-Iraqiya and Afaq TV stations and the al-Sabah newspaper to carry out the Iranian embassy’s orders on this new propaganda campaign against Ashraf residents.

Hassan Salman, head of the Iraqi Publicity Council Board of Directors; Yasin Majeed, Maliki’s former propaganda advisor; and Ali al-Moussawi, director of the Premiership National Publicity Center are all connected to and cooperating with the mullahs’ embassy in Baghdad and the MOIS.

All of the Iranian regime’s propaganda related activities inside Iraq are managed and directed by the terrorist Quds Force. The propaganda campaign against Ashraf residents is being directed by a headquarters known as “Mobeen”, established under Khamenei’s orders back in 2003 by the Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani. The al-Forat, Biladi, al-Messar, al-Qadir, al-Nahrein, al-Nakhil in Basra and Rafidian in Nasseriya, along with a number of other so-called Iraqi media outlets, have all been established with money and equipment fully provided by the Quds Force in order to carry out the Iranian regime’s political agenda in Iraq. Many of these TV stations’ programs are actually completely prepared and produced by the Iranian regime’s TV stations in Tehran.

For example, the program called “Crime and Crocodile Tears”, whose advertisement was aired by al-Iraqiya TV against Ashraf residents, was produced based on orders issued by  former acting director of MOIS mullah Mohammad Shafi’i and under the direct supervision of the Iranian regime’s TV-radio chief Zarghami.

The Afaq TV station – belonging to Maliki (al-Dawa Party -General Base) – was founded and setup by the Quds Force, with all its equipment and devices transferred from Tehran to Baghdad in September 2004. Furthermore, the remaining supplies of this TV network were delivered to the al-Dawa Party by the “Mobeen” headquarters.
