Mullahs’ regime’s lies in fear of international consequences of its crimes, aimed at preparing the ground for repressing the opposition

NCRI – Upon Khamenei’s direct orders, the mullahs’ regime’s foreign minister claimed again in a ridiculous letter to the UN Secretary General that one of the culprits of the assassination plot against Saudi ambassador in Washington D.C. has been a member of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). He wrote in his letter, “Upon being informed that it is likely that one of the culprits of the alleged assassination plot is in Iran, Islamic Republic of Iran… took action through Interpol and asked the State Security Police to conduct necessary investigations in this regard. The outcome of investigations showed that the individual as claimed by the American officials is a member of the Monafeqin grouplet [the regime’s derogatory term to describe the PMOI].”

This ridiculous claim, which is a desperate and fearful reaction to the legal and political consequences of this felonious plot on the regional and international stage, comes at a time when Khamenei and his Intelligence Ministry’s previous fabrications have only gained more abhorrence among the world public opinion and further disrepute for the regime.

On 17 October, the mullahs’ Intelligence Ministry claimed that: “The accomplice in the alleged plot to assassinate the Saudi Arabian Ambassador is a senior member of the PMOI who uses fake Iranian passports and other forged identification documents to commute between different countries”.

The US State Department subsequently announced: “These reports originate solely with Iranian state media sources, which have a documented history of fabricating news stories.” Prior to this, the Iranian Resistance had in two statements on October 11th and a statement on October 18th revealed the regime’s tricks in diverting public opinion from its terrorist plots.

This ignominious delirium is merely a continuation of clerical regime’s infamous deceptions in their three decades in power where they, directly or indirectly, have attributed their crimes to the PMOI and the Iranian Resistance; examples of which are the tragic murder of Christian priests and exploding the Imam Reza shrine in 1994, the massacre of pilgrims in Mecca in 1987… as well as blaming the U.S., Britain and the PMOI for the dreadful murder of Neda Agha-Sultan in the 2009 uprisings.

Through these deceits, the clerical regime is looking to escape the international consequences of this conspiracy and prepare the ground for future terrorist activities on the one hand and to set the stage for the massacre of the legitimate opposition to their regime on the other.

Blaming and threatening others with terrorism furthermore reveals this reality that the clerical regime greatly abuses the dithering by the international community, the Security Council, and especially western countries in confronting its anti-human crimes and terrorism. Therefore, the Iranian Resistance stresses on the imperative and urgency of adopting immediate and binding decisions to face off the clerical dictatorship and the terrorism reigning in Iran.
