NCRI – The mullahs’ intelligence ministry held another exhibition as part of its incessant demonizing campaign against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the Iranian Resistance. The exhibition was held in the Free University campus in the northern city of Lahijan.
The exhibition which will be running for a number of days was announced by the state-run Fars news agency affiliated with Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
In the past two years, the Iranian regime has held more than 120 exhibitions in its demonizing campaign against PMOI (MEK).
In most of the exhibitions, which are held in universities across the country, Revolutionary Guards show videos and distribute free brochures, books, and posters with state-sanctioned themes against the PMOI. The exhibitions are meant to discourage the “young generation especially students” from joining the Mojahedin as popular discontent with the regime grows.
According to information published by the state-run media and newspapers, the 120 exhibitions since 2010 are only part of this campaign. Some of these exhibitions run for up to a week. The frequency of these exhibitions has increased particularly in the past two years and have been held in at least 36 Iranian cities including all major cities and some smaller cities across the country. The venue is usually in universities, but some have been held in schools, government offices, seminaries, and even military barracks.
While in the past the Iranian regime’s policy was to enforce a media ban and wall of silence pertaining to the PMOI in a bid to downplay the PMOI’s role inside Iran, it has reversed policy in recent years and is actively trying to advance its demonizing campaign against the main Iranian opposition group.
According to a report recently published by the Pentagon, the Iranian regime considers the PMOI as a main threat to its illegitimate rule.
