The United States said Tuesday it will not issue a visa to Hamid Aboutalebi, the Iranian regime’s choice for UN envoy, because of the “role” he had played hostage taking at the US embassy in Tehran in 1979.
“Given his role in the events of 1979… It would be unacceptable to grant this visa,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters.
