IRAN: To cover up defeats in Syria, IRGC chief claims has 200,000 militias in the region

IRGC chief implicitly acknowledges the strategic benefit of ISIS for the Iranian regime

NCRI – Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, the head of the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC), noted in the burial ceremony for one of regime’s commanders in Syria: “The molding of ISIS and the Tikfiris, together with the events of the recent years, are all preparations for the coming of the savior. A positive consequence of this is the preparation of close to 200,000 young, armed forces in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen” (Fars News Agency, affiliated with the IRGC – January 12).

These claims by the Commander of the IRGC are aimed at cloaking Iranian regime’s consecutive defeats in Syria and to console the low morale of regime’s revolutionary guards in circumstances where IRGC brigadier generals and colonels are getting killed or injured or taken prisoner one after the other in the conflict with the Syrian people and the Free Syrian Army.

These militias are the same criminal that are busy inflaming conflicts and massacring innocent people from Meqdadiya and Diyala Province in Iraq to all corners of Syria, Lebanon and Yemen and even African countries. They politically and socially nurture ISIS and on many instances assist it tactically, technically and logistically.

As such, on the one hand the Commander of the IRGC acknowledges the warmongering of the Iranian regime in the region and its heavy and deep meddling of the revolutionary guards in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and other countries and on the other hand employs reverse language and demagoguery to acknowledge the fact that the ominous caliphate of velayat-e faqih in Tehran has so much strategic benefit in the existence of ISIS and that they are on the same side.

While over half of the population in Iran is living under the poverty line and the economy is on the verge of collapse, the Iranian regime is spending a significant part of Iranian people’s assets on regional warmongering, especially on its doomed attempt to save Bashar al-Assad.

In tandem with IRGC measures to save the Syrian dictator, the clerical regime’s president, Hassan Rouhani, too has directed state capacities to the fight against the Syrian people in a life and death fight for the Iranian regime.

In a visit to Damascus on January 12, Hassan Rouhani’s Interior Minister, Rahmani Fazli, told Assad that Ali Khamenei and Hassan Rouhani are “very much bind to the Syrian President and constantly reiterate on assisting and fully supporting the Syrian government and nation” and that “Rouhani always praises your personality and thinks highly of you” (ISNA state news agency).

Similarly, on January 8, Assad’s prime minister said in his meeting with Iranian regime Minister of Health Hassan Qazi-zadeh: “The historic and growing relation between the two nations of Iran and Syria that was founded by Khomeini and Hafez Assad has expanded to other realms during the presidencies of Hassan Rouhani and Bashar al-Assad.”

The Iranian Resistance has repeatedly declared that the only way to end terrorism and fundamentalism in the name of Islam is to overthrow the Iranian regime as the epicenter of this ghastly phenomenon, much like the fact that the obliteration of ISIS is impossible without the overthrow of Bashar al- Assad in Syria.
