Iran Protest-No. 82
Demonstrations and strikes that started on the morning of Wednesday, October 26, in Tehran and different cities in Iran grew wider and became more intense in the afternoon.
Up to 5:00 pm local time, at least 58 universities, 30 districts of Tehran, and 19 other cities were scenes of demonstrations and clashes between protesters and the suppressive forces. Bazaars went on strike in 31 cities. Abadan and Tehran refineries and Kerman Steel factory workers also went on strike, and students demonstrated in many cities.
In today’s uprising, protesters chanted anti-regime slogans targeting Ali Khamenei, the regime’s supreme leader, and his corrupt system. The slogans included “Death to Khamenei” “This year is a year of sacrifice. Seyyed Ali (Khamenei) will be overthrown,” “Death to the dictator,” “death to the Supreme Leader after many long years of crimes,” and “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader (Khamenei).”
Universities across Iran were the scenes of students’ demonstrations and clashes with the suppressive forces. Some universities in Tehran included Tehran, Sharif, Amirkabir, Khajeh Nasir, Tehran Dentistry, Pardis Branch Azad, Tehran Technology, Sciences and Research, Melli Medical Sciences, Punak Branch Azad, Tehran Azad North Branch, Agriculture and Natural Resources Sohank Center, Al-Zahra, Art and Architecture of Pars, Gharb, Surah, Science and Culture, Azad Tehran in the East. Universities in other cities included Jundi Shapur, Ahvaz Chamran, Najaf Abad, Madani Tabriz, Isfahan Technical Girls’ School, Azad Shahrak Sadrai, Shiraz, Ferdowsi Engineering, Mashhad, Resam Karaj, Azad Kerman, Azad Borujerd, Kashan, Gilan, Shahab Qom, Azad Roudhen, Azad Gohardasht, Azad Kermanshah, Babai Qazvin, Mohaghegh Ardabil, Shahroud Industrial, Azad Rasht. Bu-Ali Hamedan, Noshirvan Babol, Yazd, Semnan, Sajjad Mashhad, Karaj Nursing, Shiraz Medical Sciences, Hakim Sabzevar, Qal’eh Hassan Khan, Mashhad Agriculture, Razi Kermanshah, Kermanshah Medical Sciences, Zanjan Medical Sciences, Azad Hamedan, Malayer, Arak, Al Zahra Mashhad and Zand Shiraz.
Simultaneous with Tehran, markets in various cities such as Kamyaran, Marivan, Mahabad, Sanandaj, Bukan, Dehgolan, Javanroud, Divandarreh, Shariati Kerman, Gilangharb, Isfahan, Isfahan mobile phone bazaar, Bushehr, Shiraz, Lahijan, Rasht, Arak and Tabriz went on strike.
Until 5:00 pm in different areas of Tehran, including Naziabad, Behesht Square, Nezam Pezeshki in front of Tehran University, Lalezar, Amirabad, Hashemi street-Cheragh Barq, Kashani market, Computer market, Sahreverdi Street, Hafez Bridge, Abbas Abad, Valiasr, City Theater metro station, Shariati, Delavaran Blvd., Ferdowsi Blvd., Hervie Square, Northeast district of Tehran, Aladdin shopping Mall, Saadi Street, Geisha, Sepahsalar Bagh, Qaranei Street., Noor Valiasr shopping Mall, and Sarcheshmeh were scenes of demonstrations and clashes between people and suppressive forces.
People held demonstrations in Saqqez, Qazvin, Shahryar, Shiraz, Kerman, Sanandaj, Arak, Isfahan, Shahin Shahr, Tabriz, and others. Students in several schools in Mashhad, Qazvin, Zarin Shahr, Isfahan, and Mehr Villa in Karaj held protests and demonstrations.
