Protests erupted across Iran as retirees from the Telecommunications Company of Iran (TCI) and workers from the Iranian Offshore Oil Company held demonstrations demanding better wages, higher pensions, and basic living necessities. The protests took place in multiple cities, reflecting widespread frustration with the clerical regime’s failure to address economic grievances.
Retirees gathered in major cities, including Tabriz, Sanandaj, Bandar Abbas, Marivan, Bijar, Rasht, and Ahvaz. Their chants and slogans condemned corrupt management, government negligence, and inadequate pensions. Protesters in Ahvaz chanted slogans such as: “Enough with the warmongering, our tables are empty!”; “Inflation and high prices are killing the people!”; “Bread is expensive, medicine is expensive; we are desperate for a piece of bread.”; and “Who broke the law? The bankrupt government!”
