1,135 Executions in First 7 Months of Persian Year 1404, a 110% Increase from Last Year, Including 36 Women and 6 Juvenile Offenders

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: These brutal executions wound the conscience of humanity. Khamenei seeks to prevent an uprising with these crimes, but this tool has lost its former deterrent power.

In the Persian month of Mehr (September 23 – October 22, 2025), the ruling religious fascism in Iran set an unprecedented record in 36 years by executing at least 280 prisoners, one every two and a half hours. This figure is nearly double that of the same period in 2024 (152 executions), three and a half times that of 2023 (81 executions), and seven and a half times that of 2022 (36 executions).

Thus, the number of executions in the first seven months of the current Persian year, 1404 (from March 21 to October 22, 2025), has reached 1,135. Among them are 36 women and six juvenile offenders, who were under 18 at the time of their alleged crimes. The number of executions in the first seven months of this year shows a 110% increase compared to the same period last year (542 executions).

On Wednesday, the last day of Mehr (October 22), regime authorities hanged at least 15 prisoners, including one woman. The victims include Nourmohammad Shamloo in Esfarayen, Vahid Selahshour in Gorgan, 34-year-old Khosro Vafadar in Qom, 35-year-old Mansour Irani, a prisoner named Shahab, and another prisoner in Ghezel Hesar, Ebrahim Azizi in Birjand, Saman Talebi, Habib Haghshenas, 29-year-old Abdolreza Gholami, Saeedeh Khodadadi, and Bashir in Isfahan, Sasan Lorestani in Kermanshah, and Nader Abdi and Alireza Keshavarz in Shiraz.

On Tuesday, October 21, another 11 prisoners were executed, including Abolfazl Taremi in Zanjan and Azim Dastavar in Yazd. The names of other victims have been announced in previous statements.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said: “The scale of these criminal executions, especially in the 21st century when most countries have abolished the death penalty, wounds the conscience of contemporary humanity. With this unprecedented bloodshed and the creation of an atmosphere of terror, Khamenei is futilely trying to prevent the formation of a popular uprising. However, the week-long hunger strike by 1,500 death-row prisoners in Unit 2 of Ghezel Hesar showed that the use of this tool has reached its final days and no longer possesses its former deterrent power.”

Silence and inaction in the face of the murderers of the Iranian people fuel terrorism, suppression, and warmongering. The regime of execution and terror must be shunned by the international community, and its case of crimes must be referred to the United Nations Security Council. The international community must recognize the right of the Iranian people to fight this medieval regime and their resistance for freedom, justice, and democracy. Khamenei and the other regime leaders must be brought to justice for crimes against humanity and genocide.
