Following the death of Ahmad Baledi, a 20-year-old student from Ahvaz, who set himself on fire in protest against the mullahs’ regime, suppressive forces have initiated a repressive mobilization since yesterday to prevent social protests. Meanwhile, the publication of new reports, images, and clips from the scene of Ahmad’s self-immolation, which leaves no doubt about the direct role of the regime’s agents and mercenaries, has further fueled public anger and disgust.

Fearing this explosive situation, the regime’s ringleaders have dismissed the mayor and some local officials who were complicit in the crime. However, the people and Ahmad’s family insist that resignation is not enough and have demanded the public trial of all perpetrators.

The regime’s panicked measures today come as the Khuzestan prosecutor announced on November 7: “Any individual or group that seeks to exploit this incident to stir up ethnic sentiments will face a decisive response.”

Paying tribute to Ahmad Baledi, the brave son of the people of Ahvaz, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said: The main person responsible for this crime and hundreds and thousands of other crimes occurring in every corner of this chained homeland is Khamenei, who for decades has not shied away from any crime or plunder to preserve the sinister rule of the Velayat-e Faqih. Ahmad is a symbol of the anger and protest of a nation that has been deprived of its most basic rights for decades under oppression, humiliation, and discrimination.
