Protests hit Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, and other cities against the mullahs’ regime’s looting and repression
In recent days, various segments of the population, including students, retirees, workers, farmers, drivers, and plundered investors in Tehran and many other cities—including Isfahan, Kermanshah, Tabriz, Kerman, Yasuj, Rasht, Najafabad, Mashhad, Mehrestan, Ahvaz, Shush, and Bijar—have staged protests and strikes against the looting policies of the mullahs’ regime, the violation of their rights, and their dire living conditions.
On Monday, September 28, a group of students at Allameh Tabataba’i University protested against rising tuition fees and repressive measures by university security, particularly against female students. They chanted: “Imprisoned students must be freed,” “Hardship, unemployment, and mandatory hijab,” “The university is not a garrison or a business; long live the university,” “We don’t want a profit-driven university,” and “Don’t think it’s only for today; our appointment is every day.”
On the same day, telecommunications retirees held protest rallies in Isfahan, Kermanshah, and Bijar. Retirees of the Shafarood Company gathered in front of the Gilan Provincial Governor’s Office.
On Sunday, September 27, retirees of the Isfahan Steel Company and Social Security retirees in Shush, Tehran, Khuzestan, and Rasht held protest rallies.
On Saturday, September 26, contract drivers for the Tabriz Municipality gathered in front of the City Council to protest low wages, lack of insurance, and their employment status.
Buyers of the Shahin automobile gathered in front of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade in Tehran to protest long delays in delivery and the lack of response to their demands. Despite having paid in full, the protesters are still waiting for their vehicles. On the same day, applicants for the 624-unit housing project in Lakan, Rasht, protested in front of the regime’s Housing Foundation in Gilan.
Drivers from the ten districts of Tabriz Municipality held a protest rally in front of the City Council building. In Mashhad, farmers gathered to protest the shortage and high price of gasoline and diesel. With the unprecedented rise in diesel prices on the open market, farmers are facing serious difficulties securing fuel for their tractors.
